On October 16, 2019, The Women’s Bar Association of Illinois commemorated the 19th Amendment’s centennial at a luncheon at the Union League Club of Chicago. Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer, the first female chief judge of the Northern District of Illinois, was the keynote speaker where she also engaged with Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman, federal district court judge in the Northern District of Illinois, in a “fire side chat” about women in the law. The WBAI hosted the event in conjunction with the Black Women Lawyer’s Association of Greater Chicago, Inc., The Chicago Bar Association’s Alliance for Women and the Illinois State Bar Association of Illinois’ Women in the Law Committee.
