Family Selfie

Being named a personal representative or executor under a will or trustee under a trust agreement can be an overwhelming role, especially if you are grieving the loss of a family member or close friend.  Our attorneys are experienced navigating estate and trust administration.  This means our attorneys can effectively assist you with your fiduciary responsibilities as executor and trustee.

Some fiduciary responsibilities might include filing the will at the appropriate court house, gathering the decedent’s tangible property, compiling a list of the decedent’s assets, paying expenses and bills, timely filing tax returns (income, fiduciary, estate), dealing with creditors, and/or selling real estate.

Our attorneys can guide executors and trustees through the administration process.  Our attorneys will determine whether any assets qualify for probate. With the firm’s deep expertise drafting estate and business plans, we can easily read trust documents, follow their instructions and apply their limitations so assets are distributed lawfully, timely and according to the trust maker’s wishes. By retaining our firm to assist you with your responsibilities as executor and trustee, you will be best situated to comply with their fiduciary duties and avoid liability for failing to act.
